I Carry Your Heart

I carry your heart in the space in my soul,
Though the years and the distance have taken their toll.

The silence is heavy, the days are so long,
But the love that I hold for you stays just as strong.
I wait in the shadows, I watch from afar,
No matter the lies or how deep is the scar.

For truth is a river that finds its own way,
And I’ll hold out my arms till that beautiful day.
