The basalt pyramidion is the capstone of the pyramid “mr” of Amenemhat III “imn-m-hA.t” ‘Amun is Foremost’, a pharaonic ruler from yhe 12th dynasty (ca. 1860-1814 BC).
The pyramidion is a small pyramidal-shaped stone representing the benben or the primordial mountain the first to emerge from the ocean at the creation of the world by the god Atum
It´s decorated with a solar disc flanked by two cobras with outspread wings. The two eyes are to see the Neferu “nfrw”, the beauty of god Ra , as inscribed there in sunken relief. The pyramidion is from Hawar, now located at the Cairo Museum, Egypt
